With OLLI’s Fly Fishing and Gold Prospecting Classes

Discover your sense of adventure with OLLI’s Gold Prospecting and Fly Fishing for Seniors courses.  Steve Lamb, affectionately known as “The Lambster,” teaches both courses that are designed to relieve stress and inject fun into your life.

A fly fisherman for more than 20 years and an OLLI instructor for more than 10, Lamb’s Fly Fishing for Seniors class was created for men and women of all skill levels. Students will learn basic casting, creating knots, reading the water and entomology – the study of insects trout eat.

Grab a pan and pick your favorite mine! Gold panning is the essential part of gold prospecting that separates the traces of gold from impurities. Lamb’s Gold Prospecting class will teach students basic panning skills, sluicing techniques and mastering the art of gold prospecting. Imagine the thrill of finding a few flakes of gold glistening in the black sand at the bottom of your pan.
