Instructor Ted Sanders shares insight on retirement plans and strategies with OLLI students during a Solving the Retirement Puzzle class at the College of Continuing and Professional Education. |
OLLI helps you put all the pieces together
Individuals age 50 and older account for an increasing percentage of the U.S. population. Projections show that the older population will more than double by 2050. Time is money, and now is the time to start preparing so you can enjoy a long and meaningful retirement. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is here to help you navigate through our complex world with courses created to assist in the fundamentals of surviving financially. Our Solving the Retirement Puzzle class will provide you valuable information about IRAs, basic strategies for effective investing, RMDs, annuities and managing risk.
With more than 30 years of experience, instructor Ted Sanders has been providing financial wisdom to OLLI students to help them expect the unexpected.
"People have a tendency to react to events and base decisions on how bad or good things are,” Sanders explained. “They procrastinate when making important financial decisions. What they don’t realize is that once the event happens, it’s too late. Older adults should start to think long term and plan ahead.”
The course will also explore how to avoid common and costly mistakes made before and during retirement. The next class is being offered on Wednesday, March 12, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at KSU Center. Students are encouraged to bring their spouse or sibling at no additional cost.
