Celebrate Cinco de Mayo – OLLI Style
Did you know that Cinco de Mayo is a much bigger holiday in the United States than in Mexico? The holiday originated with Mexican-American communities commemorating the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the American Civil War, and is now observed as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.Your friends at OLLI have joined the celebration by putting a unique spin on the event to create a festive experience for you. Be our guest for a memorable night of food, fun and dancing.
Cinco de Mayo event:
- Monday, May 12 – 6 p.m. – KSU Center
The entertainment will be led by the musical performance of The Society Express Band. The versatile, Atlanta-based group led by Jeni Michelson will set the party on fire with its diverse repertoire of songs. Selections from swing, Motown, classic rock & funk to salsa, pop, beach, blues and more are sure to dazzle the masses.
Our socials usually draw as many as 200 attendees, giving you the opportunity to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones. We look forward to you joining us for a fantastic event!
