OLLI’s Qigong/Tai Chi classes provide numerous benefits
Medical research has found evidence that Tai Chi is helpful for improving balance and psychological health, and that it is associated with general health benefits in older people. The ancient Chinese martial art of form is performed without high impact and uses minimal strenuous activity. Coupled with Qigong, OLLI is excited to offer two unique classes with the goal of improving students’ well-being.
Qigong is the practice of aligning body, breath, and mind for health, meditation, and martial arts training. With roots in Chinese medicine and philosophy, it’s traditionally viewed as a method to cultivate and balance what has been translated as “life energy.”
