Culinary, Healthcare and HR programs among hot topics

More than 600 people swelled KSU Center for the summer Career Training Expo, hosted by the College of Continuing and Professional Education on July 31 from 6-8:30 p.m. This free event provided an opportunity for prospective students to talk to instructors and graduates of programs such as Culinary Arts, Human Resources, Web Design and Medical Assisting.

There were more than 20 information sessions, along with 3 personal branding workshops by John Long, certified career and life coach. Financial aid advisers were available to discuss payment plans, VA Education Benefits, scholarships and more. As an added bonus, Scrappy the Owl was there greeting attendees – and snapping a few selfies!

Barbara Calhoun, dean, said, “We look forward to helping everyone here meet their professional goals. That’s why we do what we do – to encourage empowerment, reinvention and success for all who desire it.”
Due to the demand for this event, three Expos will be offered annually instead of the standard two. Save the dates: January 8, April 2 and July 30, 2015.
